Ioannidis and Tsolakidou Crowned Greek Chess Champions

GM Evgenios Ioannidis and IM Stavroula Tsolakidou are Greece’s 2026 chess champions. Ioannidis secured his first national title after entering the final round tied with two-time champion Ioannis Nikolaidis on 6/8, then defeating him in their direct encounter. Nikolaidis and FM Michail Vassis finished on 6/9, with Nikolaidis taking silver on tiebreak. Tsolakidou won the women’s title with 8/9, finishing undefeated. Source: FIDE.
