Hans Niemann Wins Freestyle Friday on Tiebreaks

GM Hans Niemann won the October 23 Freestyle Friday with nine points, edging defending winner GM Sina Movahed on tiebreaks after also beating him in their round-10 game. Niemann’s third victory in the weekly event was his first of the Freestyle Friday Championship era and moved him into the standings’ top 10. GM Parham Maghsoodloo finished third with 8.5 points.
